Greek landscapes 2013
Photographs (diptych) Dimensions variable
A series of photographs juxtaposing the canonical narratives regarding the formation of early Greek modernism -involving the “spiritual values” of the Greek landscape, the “natural” specificities of the Greek version of abstraction, the Greek “light” etc., that had been constructed and praised as the ideal & natural forms of Greekness by Pericles Giannopoulos in the beginning of the 20th century- with tongue-in-cheek, overexposed clichés of architectural elements that bloomed in the golden era of Greek tourism (60’s-70’s).
